Michael Williams is currently General Counsel at Collective Medical, a SaaS company that operates the largest real-time care collaboration network in the United States. Michael's work at Collective Medical focuses primarily on data privacy, regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, SAMHSA, etc.), software licensing, corporate finance, and corporate governance.

Williams Law PLLC

Prior to joining Collective Medical, Michael Williams founded and managed a successful solo law practice, Williams Law PLLC. Williams Law served the complex transactional and corporate needs of growing businesses from a variety of industries, including software, healthcare, engineering, aviation, entertainment, and professional services.

Assistant General Counsel

Remedy Informatics, Inc.

Michael Williams was Assistant General Counsel at Remedy Informatics, Inc. from August 2013 until the sale of the company in October 2014. Michael's principal responsibilities at Remedy Informatics (a Utah-based healthcare software and data registry company) included the drafting, review, and negotiation of complex commercial contracts with large health plans and healthcare providers.

Additionally, Michael helped facilitate two rounds of equity financing and, ultimately, the sale of Remedy Informatics to Atlanta-based Liaison Technologies, which was purchased by OpenText in 2018.

 

 

Student Experience

 

2010 — 2013

During his second summer at GW Law, and on a part-time basis during his third year, Michael Williams was a Law Clerk at Remedy Informatics where he would eventually accept a full-time position. During his first summer at GW, Michael was a law clerk at Miles & Stockbridge, P.C. at the firm's Rockville, Maryland office where he performed research and analysis in connection with complex government and commercial transactions. 

Prior to matriculating at GW Law, Michael Williams worked as an intern in the Education Division of the Federal Judicial Center (the research and education agency of the judicial branch) in Washington, D.C. where he helped develop domain-specific training curricula and materials for federal court employees.
